Geocoders APIs are usually generalised to return results that are good enough for most people. In this talk we want to talk about how to create a geocoder that is specialized for your use case and returns results that are best for your users. The talk introduces the newest features of the Photon geocoder and shows how they can be used to easily set up a truly customized search engine. We’ll explain along the way the basic principles how a geocoder does its job and what kind of data it needs to do it.
Search boxes are an integral part of any website that works with geo-aware data. Often the search box is even the very first element with which the users interact. This talk introduces the new Photon and shows different ways how you can customize your installation, so that they better fit your use case. We’ll explain along the way the basic principles how a geocoder does its job and what kind of data it needs to do it.
